Hope Plumbing blog site gives some great tips to prevent a pipe burst. These tips can't promise for your pipes not to burst, but they can decrease the chance of this happening in your home.

1. keep one or two faucets running slowly

2. direct warm air to any colder areas of your home

3. leave cabinet doors open to allow warm air into the cabinets

4. disconnect your hose from the outside faucet

5. Install heat tape in the winter to warm the pipes in the winter

6. Seal leaks that allow cold air into your home where pipes are located

7. Prevent temperatures from dropping below 32 degrees

8. If you still have concerns about your system, call a licensed plumber and ask them to come to your home and advise you about how to prevent pipes from freezing

Worst case scenario, if your pipes do burst, or if you suspect that there is damage around your pipes, call SERVPRO of Limestone and Lawrence counties and let us come and repair your pipes. Our number is (256) 233-4033
